Jack wound up in a holding cell, where he had plenty of time to figure out that his mistake had been in making his move before explaining the situation properly.
Probably. He was in no hurry to find out if he was right.

Waiting until the situation was clear hadn’t made much difference. Daniel had looked plenty pissed when he pushed Jack away.
Jack was in no hurry to see that hurt and outraged look on Daniel’s face again anytime soon. Where had he gone wrong?

This was more like it. He’d opened up about how he felt, and he’d refused to take ‘no’ for an answer. His technique just needed a little refining.
Daniel would be eating it up.
