It’s time for some commentficcing to offset any post-holiday blues! We'll be running this through Monday, January 19th. There's a supplemental post here for questions and general squeeing.

This is more-or-less how it will work:

You (yes, you, specifically) will write a commentfic or a drabble and post it here as a new comment to the original post. Put a title in the header, if you have one, and maybe a rating or warnings if you think necessary. Crack, porn, romance, sad, silly, dark – however the muse moves you.

THE ONE-AND-ONLY PROMPT: Jack calls Daniel “baby”, or vice-versa. Or both. Because some of us melt and squee and flail when we find that in a fic. And we are not ashamed! We embrace our “baby” kink. We celebrate it.

Jack watches in horror as Daniel--not his Daniel, not anymore--gives the command to destroy Moscow, and he has to look away from the displays. Yeah, the part of him that spent twenty-something years fighting Communists is rejoicing, but the rest is just appalled at the loss of life. The loss of innocent life. "Daniel, how could you?" he asks hoarsely.

"Push of a button," Daniel says with a slightly frightening smile. "Come on, baby, this is what we've been fighting for. Earth is safe. The Goa'uld can't hurt us anymore."

Jack starts at the pet name. Not something he'd ever expected to hear (though he'd wanted to), and certainly not under these circumstances. "It doesn't matter anymore," he said dismally. "They've already won."

Jack shut off the fan in the bathroom but kept the light on in there, partially closing the door behind himself as he went into the bedroom. In the half-light, Daniel was clearly visible, lying there only partially covered with a sheet, eyes gleaming in invitation.

Wordless, literally struck dumb by the sight of his friend and lover, so beautiful, so willing, so very *his*, Jack padded slowly over to the bed, allowing himself the delight and priviledge of drinking his fill of the vision spread out for him, all for him, always only for him.

As Jack put one knee on the bed, Daniel opened his arms, and Jack slid under the sheet and into that warm embrace, their lips meeting in a hunger that lived as an eternal flame between them, one that could be momentarily sated but never extinguished.

Raising up on his elbows, Jack pulled back to rub noses with Daniel, placing feathery kisses all around his mouth, onto his eyelids, allowing himself to taste, to savor, what he was being given. "My Daniel," he breathed, more to himself than for Daniel's benefit. "My best thing... I love you, baby."

"I know, baby, just relax, it'll get better."

"You're just too big, Jack."

"God, I wish my dick was smaller."

Suddenly the absurdity of wishing his dick was smaller so he could fuck his male best friend (who he had just called 'baby') while well-armed aliens watched hit Jack and he started laughing uncontrollably.

Each laugh pushed him that much deeper into Daniel.

"Ow. Jack. Ow. Damn it, stop laughing!"

In spite of himself, Daniel started laughing along with Jack and that relaxed him enough to let Jack complete the penetration necessary to earn their safe passage home.

So was the 'baby' an automatic reassurance because he was hurting Daniel, or is there something Jack isn't telling us about how he feels toward his 'male best friend'?
