JACK/DANIEL BABY-A-THON (no infants allowed)

It’s time for some commentficcing to offset any post-holiday blues! We'll be running this through Monday, January 19th. There's a supplemental post here for questions and general squeeing.
This is more-or-less how it will work:
You (yes, you, specifically) will write a commentfic or a drabble and post it here as a new comment to the original post. Put a title in the header, if you have one, and maybe a rating or warnings if you think necessary. Crack, porn, romance, sad, silly, dark – however the muse moves you.
THE ONE-AND-ONLY PROMPT: Jack calls Daniel “baby”, or vice-versa. Or both. Because some of us melt and squee and flail when we find that in a fic. And we are not ashamed! We embrace our “baby” kink. We celebrate it.
Let’s wallow, baby!

Let’s wallow, baby!
Snow, baby.
Daniel woke abruptly to the sound of the front hall closet aggressively opened & shut. Stumbling from "his" bed, (well, he liked to think of it as his since as far as he knew he was the only sometimes denizen of Jack's spare room) he emerged into a flurry of boots, hats & an irritable Jack preparing for an apparent trip up Mt. Everest.
"Jack?"
"Daniel." Garumphing his double socked feet into the heavy boots. Jack glanced up, scowling. "You should be back in bed. Sorry I woke you."
"'S'Ok." mumbled the sleepy archaeologist. Shuffling to the window, Daniel looked out on another Colorado wake up call. Looked like a solid 4 feet of snow had fallen just since midnight, when they had finally returned to Jack's from another mission- & another trip to the infirmary. "Give me a minute and I'll..."
"Are you serious?" Jack smirked at him, taking in the rumpled appearance and waved his hand about, indicating the sling (again) in place on Daniel's arm. "If I so much as let you hoist a snowball, Frasier'll have my *ass* in a sling!"
Daniel hated feeling useless, but grudgingly had to admit that Jack was right. Momentarily put off by the mental image Jack's comment had supplied, Daniel gestured over his shoulder with a thumb, quickly backing toward the kitchen. "I'll just go put on some coffee, then."
"Aht." Jack raised his 'don't argue' finger. "No, Daniel, you'll just go back to bed and sleep off the meds you finally took last night. This is just a "Colorado flurry" and I am an Air Force Colonel and equal to the task of moving a little snow." Jack drew himself up to his full height, puffed out his chest & raised his eyebrows for good measure.
Daniel snorted at his antics and caved. "All right, *Colonel*. But don't strain anything Janet might need to sling you for."
As quiet enveloped the house, Daniel was suddenly overwhelmed with the effects of the medication. Unwilling to wander back to the spare room, he gratefully sank into the deep cushions of the end chair, in view of the door, and drifted back to sleep.

Re: Snow, baby. part2
Daniel's sleep fogged brain took in Jack, divested of jackets, sweatshirt and shoes. Face flushed and hair mussed in five directions. A band of sweat on his t-shirt collar led Daniel's eyes south to Jack's biceps, still tense & looking all - he mentally flailed - muscle-y from the winter workout...and stood quickly, startled by his own reaction. Losing his blanket, and nearly his balance, he grasped for the former & windmilled for the latter. Jack swooped forward to steady him, and didn't miss the straining at the front of Daniel's shorts. "Whoa there, Danny, you'll wind up back in the infirmary." Jack grabbed him by the arm & supported his back with his other hand, adding further tension to the muscles in his shoulders and arms. Daniel flung a hand out for support landing it squarely on a solid bicep, and as his internal self-editor was currently still asleep said *exactly* what his brain did...
"Oh...baby." This came out less like an endearment, and more like a growl-which made sense, because as heartfelt as his affection was for Jack, this reaction had a lot less to do with his heart than other parts of his anatomy.
Daniel, balance restored and eyes now wide awake, still clung to Jack's arm...apparently transfixed by the play of muscle beneath his hand. He looked up at Jack, and all the air seemed to exit the room. Daniel stared at Jack. Jack stared back. Nobody moved - till everybody was moving and suddenly Daniel found himself faced front, with Jack's arms supporting him gently, restrained tension evident in the muscles of his neck.
"Daniel," Jack breathed evenly, "are you implying you see something you like here?" Jack's steady gaze belied his teasing tone. If this was finally *that* moment...the one he tried very very hard not to wonder about and never ever to long for, he was ready.
Daniel couldn't believe he'd just put it out there. He swallowed his surprise, because hell, if Jack was asking..well, he was definitely, finally, telling.
Except, and this might just be a first, words completely failed him. Thinking to himself that communication was so much more than language, he looked steadily at Jack, slid his hands all the way up those arms, till they rested, gently, but firmly on either side of Jack's neck. His thumbs briefly traced a pattern on Jack's jaw, eliciting a small sound and a hitched breath. Then Daniel was pulling him forward and kissing him. Not feather light, not aggressive, but with intention.
Breaking the kiss without moving away, Jack breathed in the scent of Daniel and the air of rightness & breathed out his words against Daniel's lips..."oh, baby." Daniel felt the endearment and arousal and promise and melted into words he would never have said, and now would never take back.

Thank you for not scolding over the 2 part-ness of this...I tried to shorten it, but there're only so many ampersands a girl can use. *g* Thanks for the prompt and all the ensuing fun fics!

Re: Snow, baby. part2
Nice how something so prosaic as shoveling snow turned into such a gloriously romantic moment.
Thanks for writing, and a special thanks to Janet for giving Daniel the good drugs. :-D
Re: Snow, baby. part2
yes, tho prosaic is not what I was thinking while digging out *my* driveway...if this had been Jack's POV, he'd have been swearing like a sailor! ;)
I'm so tickled to see "gloriously romantic", that's how it felt when I wrote that last line ::sigh::

And this, from Part 1, made me giggle (even insanely): It's good to know that Jack's military training and experience make him super qualified to shovel snow.
::cackles with glee::
