'Daniel's Head' was unusual for me. I don't usually have to dig that deeply into a non-POV character to get at the truth, but one of my cheerleaders pointed out the necessity to me. She was so right, and it was a really interesting experience. Good to know that you enjoyed that backstage peek. :-)
