sid: (never finish)

Why do I procrastinate?

Why why why?

I could have made phone calls over a month ago to get electricians in to provide quotes on finishing the rewiring job my Dad started and abandoned.

I could have gotten A/C people in shortly after that who would have told me about the ENORMITY of the job to get central air installed in this old house, and I could have bought a nice window unit or two to run off the completed rewiring job.

But I let it all ride because my next door neighbor loaned me a little window unit and I was coasting on that. I was going to start getting A/C quotes next week.

The neighbor took the unit away 3 hours ago. He sold it to a guy at work with a pregnant fiancee. *sighs*

So I've been on the BBB website and in the Yellow Pages and on the phone. One A/C guy has already left (hence my knowledge about ENORMITY), and another will be here within the hour. I should probably call and tell him not to bother, but it will be nice to get a second quote, even though the work won't be able to be done this year, in all likelihood. Or possibly EVER if the quotes are too hideous.

Two electricians (recommended by the A/C guy, which makes life easier) will be calling me Monday and Tuesday to come out and give me quotes.

Meanwhile, looks like I should maybe get a hotel room for a couple of days, until the rains come through and cool things down a little. Right now it's 85 and feels like 92. (28 and 31 C, for you wacky foreigners.) But then I'd have no computer! *clings to you all*

Why why why? Don't procrastinate, people. *head/desk*

Another little window unit for this season has got to be cheaper than several days at a hotel!

*hugs* I suffered through Memorial Day weekend with 100+ degree weather out here with non-properly working AC, and I wouldn't wish it on anyone!!

The upside to the hotel, free wifi, so you can chill in the bar with the laptop sipping maitais and writing hot jack/daniel.

my coach used to say, when I was feeling frustrated and down on myself, "Just do what you can."

*nods* I wore long trousers (okay, linen ones ande with rolled sleeves) today for a change...loovely =)

I love it when it's NOT to hot for work outside and little wind keeps the bloody insect word off me ;)

Your subject line? That's what I was asking myself for the last 3 weeks before school started back, regarding the paper I could have been writing ALL SUMMER LONG.

It didn't work out very well for me either.

Needless to say, I commiserate with your heat and a/c difficulties, and I hope you have it all worked out and comfy soon.

Go to the hotel and take the computer with you!

It's warmer here but that probable doesn't make you feel any better. *fans you*

You seriously need a netbook! I'm on mine from housesitting. ;)
