I voted = nostalgia + you're kidding me!
I voted in the elementary school gymnasium where I used to square dance, do somersaults, and play the clarinet during concerts. I can remember peeking in on Election Days and watching the grownups going about their mysterious business. Oh, yes, and I was once dragged backward through that gym on a chair by the school principal, en route to the parking lot and a ride home, after passing out in class (the end result of having been tackled on the playground by a boy during a recess, and having blood dribbling from both injured knees. I do not do well with blood, especially my own.) If you would like to picture this, be sure to put me in a Girl Scout uniform. *g*
There was a definite WTF moment as I was filling out my ballot. I don't know how I managed to avoid the TV ads, because apparently he spent $2 million on his Congressional campaign, yet I had no idea. Yes, VP nominee Paul Ryan is also running for re-election to his seat in Congress. He's got his bases covered. If he wins both races he gets to choose. Just kidding. There would be a Special Election for the Congressional seat. I think it should just go to his Democratic opponent, in that case. I mean, if Miss America for any reason cannot serve, they don't hold another pageant! Thecrown job should go to the first runner-up. :-P

And the adults of my town got all misty-- 'look at you, so grown up, cannot believe you are old enough to vote, I remember when you were starting school.... this tall, etc.'
It was a very warm first experience.
