Well, I "know" one of the founders - the marvelous synecdochic who writes utterly fantastic Stargate fics. She used to work for LJ and was full of dreams of how to build a better journaling service.

This place will be enormously fandom friendly (and therefore porn friendly), which sounds very good considering how bad things happen from time to time on LJ. It's a good place for writers because posts can be much, much longer, so that a fic that took 3 entries on LJ can fit into one on DW. Comment size is larger, too, so comment!ficcing can be meatier and folks in general can get into longer discussions in comments to posts.
