Being social out the wazoo!

I have been out and about to an alarming degree this past week. Some of it was the search for air conditioning during the heat wave. I spent last Monday and Thursday at my favorite restaurant, sitting in the bar enjoying beer, Wimbledon, food and free WiFi until the battery on my netbook began to die. Tuesday I went to a friend's house for a cookout. Yes, there was a/c, but we spent a lot of time sweating outside on the deck. It was a lot of fun.

Tonight *checks clock* last night, I went to a murder mystery play in Milwaukee with my BFF and her husband. One of her friends had a role in it. It was fun! *looks for link* Speak Easy of Murder. I was given a hat, scarf and purse as my costume, and a card with my Sekrit Identity on it. The buffet was good, too: shrimp cocktail, cheese and crackers, veggies and dip, meatballs, sandwiches, fruit. Wine and beer were included, too. Afterwards we headed back homewards to my friends' favorite bar/restaurant and imbibed a few drinkies to round out the evening.

Then I went home and washed dishes? IDEK. First time it's been cool enough!

Please, take some of our weather, huh? I've been sitting eating strawberries and watching the tennis while wrapped in a blanket. Seriously.

Much of my tennis watching was done half-naked, with a cooler full of ice-water at my side to be applied liberally to the skin using a small towel. It was not a pretty picture. *g*

I could do with a bit of that heat - I had the central heating on last night. It's July for the love of....! Total washout of a Summer so far apart from 1 week in May.

I have had fun! Aside from the nearly dying of excessive heat part, it's been a strange-but-good week. :-)

*flutters wings* Yes, the play was fun, and I certainly didn't predict the way it ended...at all! And it took place in a lovely old mansion, so that added to the pleasure immensely.

Old houses are always a perfect setting to a murder mystery, I find. *g* The best thing is, that you had fun.
