Paying ALL the bills!

I just paid all the bills that come due between now and the end of the month. What with semi-annual homeowners and auto insurance included, it was a fairly hefty amount.

Then I looked back at the bills I paid just a week ago (Discover and Visa included, which had all my expenses from the convention on top of the usual), and I realized I've paid out two grand in one week's time.

And that doesn't cover any cash I've spent.

*faints*

Auuuuugh! That's always an annoying reaslization.

If you want to feel any better, I have to write my quarterly estimated tax check today, and it will be a power of ten of that amount....

I don't mind paying taxes! it's just, ugh, when you're self-employed and have to write the check YOURSELF instead of having it withheld...

I always have to chant "I'm funding NASA, I'm funding NASA" whenever I write the check.

(Trick I learned from another self-employed friend: whenever you write your estimated taxes, you pick a government program or two you support 100%, and convince yourself that your taxes are ONLY going to that, and not to like, the TSA. *g*)

Eugh. That's not nice.

I've just paid out for a holiday, new roof for the house and brickwork repairs to the garage. And the house insurance is due this month.

Eeeek and *faints also*

We do!

Which reminds me, I have three weekly lottery tickets to check. I could be a millionaire, baby! If you don't hear from me again, I'll be in my Vancouver harbourside apartment working on the funding for the final SG-1 movie, which will see Jack and Daniel retire together and live happily after. There will be NO romantic Jack/Sam confirmed as twu wuvvers scene. Guaranteed. ;-)

Is that Shanks and Flanigan between two slices of bread, or Shanks and Flanigan spread with jam and butter and pressed together?

Either way, it's cheap at the price!

That's real wizardry: making a Cuban out of a Canadian and two Americans.

I think that's amazingly wonderful that you can do that and not have to worry about paying bills for the rest of the month now. We live paycheck to paycheck still. :oP
