I made this!  Well, not the vases, obviously, but the icon, using LJ's Userpic Factory.  The image itself came from a post in art_glass.  I found the community by doing a search.  Unfortunately, posts are rare these days, but there is a wealth of old posts to look at, and many of the images are absolutely stunning.  Also unfortunately, from my POV, all of the comments are in Russian!  So I can't really share my appreciation with the other members.  But the descriptions are usually in English, which helps a lot!

Probably my love affair began with the paperweight my mother had.  I can remember holding it and turning it and peering at it from different angles, loving the solid weight of it in my hand.  I've got a small collection of my own now, only half a dozen or so.

I often use this icon when commenting on OT3 fics.  ;-)

So, yeah, I have a thing for decorative glassware *g*.  If I recall correctly, Flute's icon post contained a lot of images that would fit that description, so this one must have been my Very Favorite of the bunch!  (And I'll bet I only had 6 or 15 available icon spots back then, or I'm sure I would have taken more.  Maybe if we're all very nice to her, she'll post a link in the comments?  *DEOD*)

This one was taken from a Valentine's day post at smutday.  It's much more lovely than it is smutty and it just captured my heart!  It's a very old-fashioned looking image, and I adore that type of thing.  Also, I just happen to be affiliated with the goddess of the moon, so it is appropriate and, yes damn it, necessary for me to possess this icon!  (Just call me Kynthia)

Cool! I like the idea of the meme, and I like the fact that they chose one of my icons, too. BTW - if you'd like, I could put your name or something else on that icon for you...I kept the original, so I could scoot the image around a bit to make the name larger, or just add it in smaller print top right or mid or bottom left...or for that matter, anywhere else you wanted. I like it without, too, though, so it's up to you.

And I'd like to do this meme, please, even though mine are pretty self-explanatory, since they're mostly fan-based as well... Here's a link to my icons:

Of course you offered to personalize the girl in the moon for me when I chose it, and I saved your comment and even put "Dusty's icon" on my to-do list (the one that never quite gets done).

The problem I suppose is that I simply have no artistic skills whatsoever, and I can't really "see" what I might like or what might look best. The two things that spring to mind right now are Sid in smaller print in the bottom left, or in larger letters (but not too large) going down the left-hand side. I have no idea what color would work best.

Maybe you can come up with a vision from that. :-)

Okay...I didn't like the way the ones down the left-hand side came out, I kept the best one, but I'm not sure you'll like it. If any of these work, that's cool. If not, let me know, and I'll try something else.

I'm collecting votes from some folks I'm chatting with tonight. Everybody likes #3 a lot, and I think that one is my favorite, too. But I never would have been able to picture it!
