'Matinee' Daniel as I read him felt colder and more dangerous than the 'As You Were' Daniel in my head, but that's an unexamined gut response, since I don't actually know much about 'As You Were' Daniel. He's a Schrodinger's Daniel, all things and none until/unless I open his box in an 'As You Were' sequel. I still have a strong sense of a 'Matinee' Daniel who'd had a relationship with Jack -- one that crashed and burned and broke him very deeply and left him a nearly impossible nut to crack emotionally. But that's not 'Idyll' Daniel (who's totally your baby and I don't think I could have added anything to for this meme, tho you were sweet to think of me :-)). That's yet a third angle on O'Neill/Jackson/Mitchell (and one I hope somebody writes, 'cause it could be way cool -- either the owchiest version yet, or a beautiful comfort fic, if Mitchell could melt those pain-barriers). I do love me some iterations. *g*
