Jack opened the envelope eagerly. “Hockey tickets! All right!” He gave Daniel a warm kiss. “Thank you. Thanks for going with me. I know hockey really isn’t your thing.”
“I’ll enjoy it,” Daniel said with a wicked smile. He pulled out a wrapped gift from behind the sofa pillow.
“More?” Jack tore off the paper and opened the box. He stared at the contents. “It’s… cute. Kinda small, though.”
“I wouldn’t want you to be uncomfortable, Jack. Those seats at the arena are pretty hard.”
Jack gulped and shivered with excitement.
