notifications fail

I've been lucky up until a few days ago, but I'm not getting any lj notifications at all now.

I think I'll most likely turn off comments here on my journal and ask for comments over on Dreamwidth instead.  My lj inbox will be plenty full with community comments and replies to comments I made on other people's journals (after I adjust my settings), so that's really the only thing I can do to sort things out a little for myself.

How's about you guys?  Have you been affected?

That happened to me last week, but it's all good now. Only took a couple days to fix.

I hate to think that I might have missed feedback on something. I always try to respond to everyone who comments on my stuff. :-/

I hope LJ can get it resolved for everyone before too long.

I was worried about that, too; oddly enough, everything showed up this weekend (some comments were 5 day old). It's been announced constantly in the LJ newsletters so I'm sure most of your flist knows if you don't respond that is probably why.

LOL! I was feeling very nostalgic about sg_15 lately and the sometimes crazy that is Jack (your background) reminded me of that.

I haven't been affected at all. I heard it was primarily Yahoo, but I use Gmail so I haven't seen any negative effects. The best thing that has come out of this situation on my end is a reminder that I have a Dreamwidth account and that someday I ought to log in to such. *sigh* so many accounts, so little time.

I've heard some Gmail users say they've had intermittent problems. Anyway, AOL can be added to Yahoo now, as of the 17th from what I can tell.

Dreamwidth has fewer problems with spam accounts just because of the need for an invite to open up a free account. They did a week recently where anyone could open an account, and they picked up about four naughty spammers from that. LJ must be pretty overwhelmed with the nasties, OTOH.

My email already gets so much crap, that I stopped having LJ send anything to it at all. Instead, I just my LJ inbox. That seems to work all right, though I expect I miss stuff there too.

I hardly use my regular email - it's all boring stuff. I just hang out on LJ all day :-)

I had just realized that LJ had finally fixed a previous problem, and that I could tick a box and stop getting email notices of my own comments, which was making navigating (HA!) mandc_read so much easier. And I have email filters set up so that LJ comments don't go into my main email inbox.

Everything was perfect. *pouts*

I have had no problems because I don't receive notifications by email....I'll be staying here on LJ because most of my non-J/D slash friends are here and I get the most comments....however I will try and put any MSOL, Michael Shanks news and J/D comments on DW as well as LJ...but any personal stuff will stay here....

It's been affecting me for a few weeks now. I get all my notifications -- eventualy -- but the timing can be anything from instantaneous to a week late.

I now check my actual posts as well as my LJ inbox on anything that I'm trying to keep tabs on. This isn't a hardship for me, since my posting is pretty simple and regular, but it's a damned nuisance and I really hope LJ gets their systme tightened back up.

I do know that they were getting huge amounts of spammage in the form of comments to existing posts, so I'm grateful that they're trying to keep ahead of the flood, enyway.
