If you don't know or care about the scene that was cut from the SGA episode Trio, then you don't need to read this.  It was cut, so it ain't canon.  

But for me, just knowing that it exists out there in some form calls for: 

REBUTTAL

“So.”

 

“So?”

 

“Apparently, according to Walter, he heard from Sheppard that McKay told him that Sam was telling people that the two of you have a thing going on. You’re going to retire, yadda yadda yadda.”

 

“Crap.”

 

“Yeah.”

 

“You’re pissed, aren’t you?”

 

“No. No, no. You know how much I love Sam.”

 

“Yeah. The problem is that I love her, too, and she knows it.”

 

“Yeah. She knows it. She just doesn’t get it.”

 

“Why didn’t she marry Shanahan?”

 

“We know why.”

 

“Yeah. Just… why?”

 

“Because that would make our lives too easy?”

 

“I wish.” Jack held Daniel more tightly.

Ha! Hammond is already retired. (I think. Because he was wearing a suit instead of a uniform in his last appearance and Jack is now head of Homeworld Security.)

P.S. I tried that justification too but I just couldn't do it to Walter.

I don't doubt that Sam has a thing for Jack, I just don't see Jack returning it. Not the way she wants.

Yes, George has retired from the Air Force. I think he works directly for the President now, but I could be mistaken about that.

I saw a couple of folks at Mallozzi's blog suggesting Hammond and thought it was a great joke! (But of course George would never hurt Walter that way.)

Boy, I needed that drabble.

And this is so the true scenario. We all know it. Why do the non-believers refuse to see it? I mean, it's canon. We have to see it on screen, though, so that everyone else will be forced to admit it's the truthiness. We deserve a resolution, it's been ten years. We've been screwed around enough.

I confess, this kind of 'announcement' from one of TPTB is what makes me less inclined to engage in the fandom.

Not that I don't mind people squeeing over their respective OTPs, but the constant hacking away at a character's integrity, and by extension, her fans, makes me grind my teeth.

That little "outtake" (amazing how it only came out later, eh?) - I'm sorry, could we be less vague? If we're dating, just bloody say so; or are we still in Graceland, a fantasy, where nothing, [i]nothing[/i] has been confirmed or agreed, just imagined/perceived? Why does Carter have to make these mentions at all? Does it impact on her command or aide her connections with other female characters?

Sorry, burbling, another reason I fail at engaging (!)

Maybe Mallozzi gets extra points for all the hits on his blog or something...

If they were going to do 'it' (make S/J irrevocably canon, shudder) I'd have more respect for them if they just had Sam come out and say it. "I'm in a relationship with my CO of eight years." And let the chips fall where they will.

Hm, well, maybe not, the gossip would be brutal.

Let's stick with them cutting that scene all together. Not canon works best for me (and for Sam's dignity)
