Local Terminology Meme
Jul. 17th, 2007 09:14 amAfter comparing the lists of people from Scotland, Louisiana and Canada, I had to give it a go. Should be a mish-mosh of New York state (where my mother grew up), Wisconsin (where I grew up) and Indiana (where I've lived for 25 years):
1. A flowing body of water, smaller than a river, contained within relatively narrow banks: Creek (NOT pronounced "crick". I remember having that fight with my mother when we were visiting her parents *g*)
2. The thing you push around the grocery store: Cart
3. A metal container to carry a meal in: Lunch box
4. The thing that you cook bacon and eggs in: Skillet
