(Yes, I skipped a bunch of days; I plan to go back and do at least some of them.)

In your own space, talk about setting yourself a fannish goal. Big or small, it doesn't matter. Some great examples include: complete a bingo, sign-up for a Big Bang, write that fic you've been thinking about for years, podfic that story that you love, make a fanmix for your fandom, post that bit of meta or reclist you keep postponing. Maybe resolve to be better at leaving feedback, or answering comments.

I think my main goal should be to finally finish the kinky D/j story I started writing in 2008! Yeesh!

Other goals would include uploading more stories to AO3, doing some kind of fic master list, and improving my tagging.

My immediate goal is to write a gen fic for the upcoming Alphabet Soup. There are still ten letters available at the time of this post, so go sign up if you think you could write 100 words or more of gen fic by February 10th. Signups are on LJ, but your stories can be posted to DW, AO3, or wherever. :-)

In your own space, create a love meme for yourself. Let people tell you how amazing and awesome and loveable you really are.

Um, okay.

In your own space, share a book/song/movie/tv show/fanwork/etc that changed your life. Something that impacted on your consciousness in a way that left its mark on your soul.

I have to start with The Man from U.N.C.L.E.. The first time I saw it was in a motel room, on a family summer vacation. During the school year, I would have been in bed when it aired, but in the summer I got to stay up later. MFU taught me that there was something worth staying up for! It really was my introduction to "adult" television. I got fannish. My allowance went for the paperback novels. I still have them fifty years later. I (and many other kids) wrote fanfic (although that word didn't exist) for school assignments, until the teacher put his foot down and told us to cut it out. LOL.

As an interesting aside, that first episode I saw guest starred 13-year-old Kurt Russell. :-)

In your own space, talk about a creator. Show us why you think they are amazing.

There are fifty people I could talk about, but I'll stick to talking about something I know absolutely nothing about: Icons. And the fabulous [personal profile] magnavox_23. Why is mags amazing to me? Well, I can't talk about fonts and sharpness and coloring and all that technical stuff, but I would never have needed to buy extra icon spaces if she didn't keep kicking out such witty icons! I love her sense of humor, and I'm in awe of her ability to look at a screencap and see something no one else would. Something twisted, generally speaking. *VBG* That's my kind of creator!

Troll through my icons, and you'll see her name again and again. (You'll also see naked people having a good time, just to alert anyone who wanders in by chance.)

In your own space, promote three communities, challenges, blogs, pages, Twitters, Tumblrs or platforms and explain why you love them.

1. The Onion's A.V.Club, TV section. They post reviews of all sorts of shows I follow: , Downton Abbey, Marvel Agents of SHIELD, Sherlock, Doctor Who, White Collar, Top Chef, Mad Men. Plus there are Classic reviews of shows from the past, such as Farscape. They also do Ten Essential Episodes posts to point out ten episodes that will give you the flavor of a show you haven't been watching. And there's a Newswire to keep you up-to-date on all the TV news.

2. A J/D Tumblr. I don't pretend to understand Tumblr, but I know J/D gifs, artwork and icons when I see them! Gives a boost to my day whenever I check in to find something new. I don't recall who pointed to this originally...

3. Doing Doctor Who. A fanboy and a newbie doing Doctor Who...from the beginning. A woman who knew absolutely nothing about Doctor Who is watching it from the 1963 beginning, An Unearthly Child, alongside a devoted fanboy. They're adorable together, and I'm following along week-by-week, via dailymotion.com, seeing First Doctor eps I've never watched before, including recreations of missing eps, of course. They're planning to do the entire series, and I really hope they keep going forever. :-)

In your own space, post a rec for at least three fanworks that you have created. It can be your favorite fanworks that you've created, or fanworks you feel no one ever saw, or fanworks you say would define you as a creator.
