RULES: Each player of this game starts off with 10 weird things/habits about yourself. People who get tagged need to write a blog of their own 10 weird habits/things as well as state this rule clearly. At the end you need to choose 6 people to be tagged and list their names.

Some I just couldn't not list even tho I'm sure most people have seen them. Some could be listed in more than one category, but I put them where I thought they fit best. What American accent do you have?
Your Result: The Inland North

You may think you speak "Standard English straight out of the dictionary" but when you step away from the Great Lakes you get asked annoying questions like "Are you from Wisconsin?" or "Are you from Chicago?" Chances are you call carbonated drinks "pop."

The Northeast
Philadelphia
The South
North Central
The Midland
Boston
The West

And my mother was from near Buffalo, New York, so that had an influence on my speech, too. Heh, I do call it "pop" but write it on my grocery lists as "soda".

Apparently I missed the announcement!  But I hasten to observe the day:

Here's a bit from my Dining "Out" series.  In the third story, Breakfast Is... Jack wants to reveal to Daniel the glory that is a hot, melty peanut butter and bacon sandwich.  Sam and Teal'c find the whole thing terribly, terribly humorous.

Okay, enough fun, back to the heaping helping of angst that is my current story.  :-)

1. Go to Music Outfitters
2. Enter the year you graduated from high school in the search function and get the list of 100 most popular songs of that year
3. Bold the songs you like, strike through the ones you hate and underline your favorite. Do nothing to the ones you don't remember (or don't care about).

...to fill that gaping hole on the West Coast.

These are all the states I've visited. Come to think of it, I changed planes in Denver while flying to Seattle, but I guess that doesn't count. I never saw the outside of the airport, even. Hey, I did the same thing in St. Louis! (My flight out of LAX left late, just missed my connection in Dallas, got put on another airline which flew me to St. Louis, where I connected to Des Moines. FOUR frelling airports in one miserable day!)

Take the first line from one of your stories, the line you are fond of, and then analyze it.

I'm not very good at this sort of thing, but I'll play!  This is the first line from my story Once Bitten, which kicked off the First and Foremost series:

It wasn't that Daniel didn't like Colonel O'Neill

*sighs* I brought it on myself.

If you comment...

1. I'll respond with something random I like about you.
2. I'll tell you what song/movie reminds me of you.
3. I'll name something we should do together.
4. I'll say something that only makes sense to you and me (or just me).
5. I'll tell you my first/clearest memory of you.
6. I'll leave you a quote that is somehow appropriate to you.
7. I'll ask you something that I've always wondered about you.
8. If I do this for you, you must post this on your journal so you can do the same for other people. You MUST

(I'm sure to screw this up....)

Step 1: Put your MP3 player or whatever on random.
Step 2: Post the first line from the first 20 songs that play, no matter how embarrassing the song.
Step 3: Post and let everyone you know guess what song and artist the lines come from.
Step 4: Strike out the songs when someone guesses correctly (No lyric hunting! That is cheating!)

I've added more lyrics for the songs not guessed yet - hard to pinpoint what constitutes "the first line" anyway

Let's see, who did I steal this from? I think it may have been Nell, but it's been around the block a few times :-)

Name a CD you own that you think no-one else on your friendslist does:
"The Best of The Mills Brothers". Bonus points, though, if you have even heard of them. *g*

Name a book you own that you think no-one else on your friendslist does:
"Julia Brent of the WAAC". It was given to my mother by her aunt in 1943, and she passed it along to me. It's about a girl who joins the Women's Auxiliary Army Corps when it is founded in the aftermath of Pearl Harbor. There's romance! (not to mention illicit fraternization) Adventure (secret Nazi spies)!

Name a movie you own on DVD/VHS/whatever that you think no-one else on your friendslist does:
D.W. Griffith's "Intolerance" (1916). It's not only black-and-white, it's SILENT!

Name a place that you have visited that you think no-one else on your friendslist has:
Corydon, Indiana. It was the first state capital of Indiana, but I was there to tour the Turtle Run Winery.

Name a piece of technology or any sort of tool you own that you think no-one else on your friendslist has:
I still own all my tools for making bassoon reeds. Including a reamer. *eg*
