1. Atlantis guess that's not a shocker. I read less Atlantic fanfic than I do SG-1, and don't know if I'll ever buy the DVDs. But I have every episode on VHS!
2. Aubrey/Maturin see icon if you don't know them. I'm on book number 13 of 20, and proceeding slowly, relishing every word and every slashy moment. Patrick O'Brian is dead, so there won't be any more books (except #21, from an unfinished manuscript, meh), but maybe some movie sequels to Master and Commander?
3. Art museums alone or with friends, there is always something beautiful and interesting to look at. I have even seen slashy artwork!
4. ABBA I must like them, I have 3 of their albums! Fernando, Waterloo, Dancing Queen. Fun stuff. (Sidebar: my brother's dachshund used to howl when I put them on the stereo)
5. AIM it's so much fun to chat with my fellow THINGers! The booze and wine and beer flow, and the fingers type (and mis-type) the most funny and outrageous stuff! (edited to add that some people actually are sober at all times)
6. Apricot brandy there are a lot of good-tasting cocktails made with apricot brandy and gin. My favorite is the Paradise: equal parts apricot brandy, gin, and orange juice, with a splash of lemon. Yum!
7. Aquariums I've never even owned a fish, but I can stare at aquariums for hours. Well, maybe not quite hours, but long, peaceful, satisyfing minutes. I love water, for one thing (fountains, streams, waterfalls, etc) so this probably ties in to that. :-)
8. Alternate universes not every AU ever written. Sometimes they suck. *g* But the whole concept is wonderful, and the execution is frequently delightful. The fanfic universe would be a duller place without AUs. Long may they live!
9. Adrian Paul Duncan MacLeod. The Highlander. Born 400 years ago in the Highlands of Scotland, etc. I only have about eight pictures of him hanging on my walls. *blushes* And I got to watch him eat his lunch at a convention! And waited for an elevator with him!! Actually, it's because of Peter Wingfield (Methos/Tanith) that I stumbled into Stargate fandom.
10. Alias Smith and Jones, Alien Nation, Are You Being Served? I couldn't come up with a #10, so I visited an alphabetic list of TV shows, and decided to put all three of these here. AS&J = totally slashy. The ones with Peter Duel, that is. The show should have died with him. AN = great concept of aliens living in American society, with all the prejudices and misunderstandings that went along with that. AYBS? = great Britcom from the 70's that just never gets old for me, no matter how often I see an episode. Mrs. Slocombe, Captain Peacock, Mr. Lucas, Miss Brahms. And of course, the is-he-or-isn't-he Mr. Humphries. Just typing the names makes me smile.
