RECIPROCITY

Daniel was twisted in his chair, head flung back at an odd angle. "Stiff neck?" Jack inquired.

"No, an itch. I can't quite..." Daniel's left arm was bent awkwardly behind his back.

"Want me to...?"

"Well, if you don't mind," Daniel said with an air of relief.

"You scratch my back, I'll scratch yours."

"Except I don't scratch yours," Daniel said, peering up at Jack. "Oh, right there."

"Mine doesn't itch."

"Well, if it ever does..."

Jack leaned over Daniel's upturned face and smiled slightly. "If I ever have an itch that needs scratching, you'll be the first to know."
