*Love!* Oh, I love this! This is so perfect and makes perfect sense. Oh, Daniel. 1 and 2 are so hurty and make so much 'Daniel' sense- I can see him thinking like this and it comes through in the story- even from Cam's POV.
(And #1, Oh Daniel, Jack didn't know. We know he didn't know, but I can so see Daniel imagining (sometimes) that he did.)
But three! Three! Mitchell and reality encroaching on Daniel's closed-off-ness,- "Mitchell smelled like Mitchell,"-- so GUH! and so sweet and so sad all at the same time. Just like the original story. *g*
