This drabble is for

zats_clear, who asked for:  Jack/Daniel, early seasons, the eyes never lie, pre-slash or first time.

Rated PG.

 

JANUARY THAW

He says he’s gotten past his wife, that he’s ready to move on. That he wants to move on with me. He might even believe it’s true, but the eyes never lie. He’s in my bed and he’s thinking of her. I’m touching him, intimately, but I can’t know what he likes. She knew.

 

It’s too soon.

 

I cup his face in my hands and say that I think we should wait. He nods, his face showing relief mingled with regret. 

I know we’ll get there in the end because the eyes never lie, and Jack’s are filled with love.
