Good weekend
May. 26th, 2008 01:25 pmAnybody miss me? :-)
We had great weather for the 500 yesterday, all my meals were successes (although the scrambled eggs were a little salty this morning), and our guests departed for home a little while ago.
The dishwasher is running, the laundry can wait. I've got two days worth of newspapers to read and a recording of the race to watch - - - but OMG I need to try to catch up on LJ first!!! *g*
And I have a fic to finish polishing up before posting it. :-)

Date: May. 26th, 2008 06:09 pm (UTC)Appetizers Friday night were fresh-baked bread with garlic and rosemary-infused olive oil for dipping, and an antipasti tray with an olive blend, Genoa salami, pepperoni and little chunks of Parmesano Reggiano. Then spaghetti and meatballs, Romaine lettuce salad and Chianti for supper.
Saturday breakfast was bagels and cream cheese, cinnamon raisin toast, bananas, and Danish kringle. That was at about 11 am when the last stragglers came downstairs. So lunch pretty much became supper around 4 pm, when my brother finished grilling corn on the cob, brats and hot dogs. We had beans to go with.
Sunday morning we camped across the street from the track at 8 am and had bacon sandwiches, more kringle, sausages. Along with Bloody Marys and beer, naturally. Grilled chicken for inside the track. And then while traffic died down we tailgated some more, with shrimp cocktail and the hot dogs and brats we didn't cook the day before, plus beans again.
Scrambled eggs this morning, the leftover beans with the last bratwurst sliced up in them, the last two hot dogs sliced up and sauteed with onions, and grapes (for pretending to be healthy.) Plus folks had kringle and bagels before the cooking began. (I was the last one up this morning *g*)

Date: May. 26th, 2008 06:13 pm (UTC)Yes, it is indeed the fic you think it is! I made a few of the changes from your notes and looked a couple of things up, grammar-wise, but I haven't been able to touch it since Friday. SOON!
