It’s time for some commentficcing to offset any post-holiday blues! We'll be running this through Monday, January 19th. There's a supplemental post here for questions and general squeeing.
This is more-or-less how it will work:
You (yes, you, specifically) will write a commentfic or a drabble and post it here as a new comment to the original post. Put a title in the header, if you have one, and maybe a rating or warnings if you think necessary. Crack, porn, romance, sad, silly, dark – however the muse moves you.
THE ONE-AND-ONLY PROMPT: Jack calls Daniel “baby”, or vice-versa. Or both. Because some of us melt and squee and flail when we find that in a fic. And we are not ashamed! We embrace our “baby” kink. We celebrate it.

Date: Jan. 13th, 2009 05:52 am (UTC)“’m here,” Daniel responded. But it was a half-truth at best. His eyes were glazed and unfocused, his skin pallid and clammy, his shirt soaked with blood.
Sam tore open a new dressing with her teeth.
“No going glowy. Right here. You got that?”
“Yesss.” Daniel’s fingers scrabbled weakly at Jack’s knee.
“Teal’c will be back with help before you know it. Just hang tight.” Jack lifted his hands and Sam replaced the dressing. Jack reapplied pressure. “If we had our radios, he’d be telling us right now that he’s only a minute out. I’m tellin’ you, Daniel. Daniel?”
“Here. Here. Jaaack.” Daniel’s eyes rolled back in their sockets.
“Don’t you dare! Daniel? Daniel!”
Sam put her fingers to Daniel’s wrist and bent to put her ear by his lips, blocking out Jack’s harsh breathing. “I think he’s just passed out, sir. But his pulse is really weak.”
Jack’s eyes were fixed on Daniel. “Don’t tell me he’s dying, because I don’t want to hear it.” His face didn’t have much more color than Daniel’s, and his voice shook.
Sam stared at him helplessly.
“Daniel.”
“I hear something!” Sam rose and turned towards the sound.
“Don’t leave me, baby. Please.”
Tears starting down her face, Sam shouted frantically, “Over here!”

Date: Jan. 13th, 2009 08:46 pm (UTC)I also like the way that the promptathon context lets you end it right where you do, right after the climactic 'baby' line, at that spiking moment of either rescue arriving or Carter being totally wrong about what she thought she heard.
