Oy! I had to get out of bed to write this!

UNSPOKEN

It was there. Unspoken. It shone in Daniel’s eyes. Daniel loved him.

It wasn’t hero worship, admiration, or simple friendship. Jack was familiar with all those things.

It was love; the kind that asked for nothing in return. A beautiful gift.

But how could you not love someone who loved you? How could you not respond to the warmth in someone’s eyes, to the soul that looked out at you and found you somehow worthy?

Jack wasn’t permitted to love him back. He was sure that Daniel understood that.

And yet he did.

It was there. Unspoken. In his touch.

I guess it was Jack's rejection that turned Harry into the cold-hearted bastard we met initially. :-D

The scene we didn't see in the first episode where Harry showed up, was where Jack said, "Permission to f*ck the brains out of this man, Sir?" ;o)

We know it had to happen eventually, right? There isn't any other explanation for the radical change in Harry. *nods*

It's no wonder they called themselves Starsky and Hutch, lol! Everybody knows that they were doin' it!

Maybe... Though Harry and Jack are both Colonels at the same point, which doesn't argue for them being very disparate in rank earlier on (alas!).

Still, lovely to contemplate....

Yes, but if Jack was a goof-off, and Harry was focused on his career (after Jack's rejection), Harry might have gotten promotions a lot quicker!

But, don't look at me - I'm not going to write it! :-P

It's pretty obvious from canon that Harry is pretty career-focused, as well as much better at playing teh Straight Arrow (WHOOP!) than Jack is. So he could have, er, come from behind.

In terms of promotions. I meant in terms of promotions.
