Fandom Snowflake Challenge Day Six
Jan. 7th, 2014 03:53 pmIn your own space, share a book/song/movie/tv show/fanwork/etc that changed your life. Something that impacted on your consciousness in a way that left its mark on your soul.
I have to start with The Man from U.N.C.L.E.. The first time I saw it was in a motel room, on a family summer vacation. During the school year, I would have been in bed when it aired, but in the summer I got to stay up later. MFU taught me that there was something worth staying up for! It really was my introduction to "adult" television. I got fannish. My allowance went for the paperback novels. I still have them fifty years later. I (and many other kids) wrote fanfic (although that word didn't exist) for school assignments, until the teacher put his foot down and told us to cut it out. LOL.
As an interesting aside, that first episode I saw guest starred 13-year-old Kurt Russell. :-)
