I'm going to make a serious effort to write more this year. Finish up my WIPs, explore old bunnies, sign up for ficathons, do Five Things things. I've made a pledge over at [livejournal.com profile] getyourwordsout to write 150k words in 2011. I have no idea if I'm going to manage it - but I do know one way you folks can help me, if you're so inclined.

If you hate commentfic, stop reading right here. *g*

As of today I am watching both LJ's [livejournal.com profile] comment_fic and DW's [community profile] fic_promptly. If you are the sort of person who would enjoy leaving prompts that might whet my appetite (or, who knows, someone else's) and have the time to check out the daily theme at one or both communities to see if it sparks any ideas for you, I'd love to have you add them to your list/circle.

Jump-starts are good. And encouraging. :-)

Fandoms: SG-1 of course; Master & Commander; The Sentinel; maybe Atlantis.

Naturally I'll link in my journals to any prompts that I answer. Thank you for your attention!

Yeahhhhh, WTF (I love that comm abbreviation, heh) is sort of in a weird space. I'm one of the mods, & the person who started it wanted it to be encouraging for beginning fic writers, which is what I wanted too. Though it's sort of morphed slightly into just encouraging anyone to write fic, if they're blocked or whatever. I think the space can serve both groups (which overlap somewhat, anyway), but I appreciate that it's not quite clear right now what, exactly, the comm is doing. I do know that quite a few veteran fic writers are in the comm & have done the WIP challenge.

That's not to say that you might not want to join, anyway -- I just wanted to say that I understand your confusion, & somewhat share it, even though technically as a mod, I guess I shouldn't. ^^;;;
