...which affects me.
My local NBC affiliate in Milwaukee has stopped carrying Saving Hope, and is broadcasting NFL pre-season football, instead.
Fortunately I discovered that my DVR was not showing a scheduled recording. I then did a menu search and Saving Hope did not come up at all. I then checked the NBC website and the TV Guide listings. Both showed Saving Hope returning, post-Olympics, tonight. WTF? I asked.
So I finally realized that it was my affiliate, not the network itself, and checked the TV Guide listings for antenna broadcasts in my area (between Milwaukee and Chicago.) The Chicago affiliate is still airing Saving Hope.
I still have an antenna, although it's not in the best of shape, and I have software on my PC that picks up broadcast signals. As of this morning, when I set up a recording, Chicago was coming in beautifully. So hopefully, right now, I am recording. I'll find out in about ten minutes. Will let you know! Because you all care! Deeply!
Stay tuned! ETA: It worked! :-)

Date: Aug. 17th, 2012 03:12 am (UTC)I'm in a "dual market" area, which means I can get affiliates from two different markets. I get two versions of every network now, which comes in handy if the weather's wonky and knocks one out of commission.
I'm surprised that they're preempting locally but not scheduling it for another day/time. That's usually what happens, even if they put it on at 2 a.m.

Date: Aug. 17th, 2012 04:38 am (UTC)Over the air we've always received both Chicago and Milwaukee, but cable naturally only gives us one channel per network -- the closest one. Which likes football now. They're not just preempting it this week, but for the next 2 or 3 weeks. I think they just decided they could do better ratings-wise with football, and that no one would miss it.
