randomness
Dec. 12th, 2012 01:36 pmETA: How could I have forgotten this? I was watching an episode of Rawhide from 1961, and playing an Indian = Leonard Nimoy. Oh, Hollywood...
Something extremely random that came to me in the night: If Jack O'Neill Wrote Love Poems

I was interviewed by the Gallup Poll the other day. They were calling cell phone numbers. There was a broad range of questions covered, and I'm sure I don't remember half of them. I think the very first questions might have been my age. They asked if I also had a landline, and a question about which phone gets more incoming calls. They asked about exercise, how many servings of fruits and vegetables I eat and how easy it is to find them in my area, whether I feel safe walking in my neighborhood at night. They asked me about the fiscal cliff: how likely I think it is that a solution will be found in time, whether the sides should stick to their guns or try to compromise, how well I think the President, the Democrats, the Republicans are handling this issue. My personal level of happiness on a 1-10 scale, and where I think I'll be on that scale in five years. There was a series of questions about my health: whether I'd had a cold, a headache, a backache in the last five days. Whether I'd ever been diagnosed with diabetes, cancer, arthritis. Had I been to the dentist in the last year.
Then they ended with a bunch of demographic questions, including height and weight, marital status, political affiliation, children under 18 in the home, (ex-)service members in the home, income. Oh, and a series of questions about race and how I identify myself. I told the woman she could stop after 'white', because I am really nothing but, but she said she was legally obligated to ask all the questions. No I'm not Samoan, Hawaiian, native Alaskan, etc. Then she asked if they could call me in the future, and got my first name to make it easier to know that I'm the same person.
They like me, they really like me! :-D
