I am very picky about them, because unfortunately there is one thing in that verse that is just a dealbreaker for me, and that is if a fanfic writer has Daniel become Jack's shrink and then sleep with him. That plot point will throw me right out of the story every time because it is such a major violation of a psychologist's professional ethics.

But I have read several that I just adored. i don't have my recs organized by theme or episode, though, so it would take some digging for me to find it....I know Kokopelli wrote one of my favs on Area 52 ... I think it was called Under the Mistletoe? I can't remember the name. But it was lovely.

ach, I always am so paralyzed by deadlines 'blinks'. It seems the freeze me up and then I am so scared to come up with nothing... I signed up for a big bang with a story that's already halfway written so I'm fairly sure it will be done by Febuary... but even that I only did after lots of thinking and hesitating...

I'd like to try this, because it's been a while since I wrote 'adult' SG-1, but am just not sure I can pull through.

But I'm looking forward to see what you'll come up with, Sid! And I'm sure you'll find something you want as well! :)

I'm having exactly the same problem. I'm definitely signing up this year, I just can't decide what I want from the recipient. Or what I want to write! Oh, god, it's always the same. I HATE MYSELF!!!

My fall-back approach to times of terror is to set a timer for 10-15 minutes and see what happens. The very fact that I know I can stop soon usually helps me get started.

It's a Remus/Sirius fest. I've got an idea, but its a little too big for the timeframe I have to finish, and I haven't figured out how to cut it back. Also, just... putting things on paper is scary.

I would love to get over this slump. I'm so tired of not producing much of anything.

I know nothing about Remus/Sirius. I just know what a fine writer you are. And that crappy first drafts are good things.

Can you start in the middle of your idea and fill in the backstory with exposition?

I'm always very pleased with what little I manage to get on paper. I just need to make that carry over to finishing things, and acting like a writer and writing more often. Prompts and deadlines are truly my best friends nowadays.

I'm just having real issues these days. I get disinterested so fast. I actually am trying an idea that I had 2 years ago since I had scenes written that I didn't use. I thought having some words that just need editing might help, but... I have no idea what my problem is really. Other than the obvious mental shit I'm going through. I just hate how all that has translated over into writing.

*nods* I haven't been myself since my dad passed away, and that's over three years ago. I almost have an ADD-thing going on. And, yeah, sometimes I guess "disinterest" would be an appropriate word, too.

Oh, lord, I'm depressing myself! I'd better go wash dishes or something useful. :-D
