It's very disorienting

I've woken up three times today.

It's been a ridiculously cool summer, other than one very bad week in July. So along come two days around 90 degrees, and apparently I can't cope with the heat.

Tuesday night I went to bed around midnight and woke up around 2:40 a.m.

Back to bed around 10 a.m. Wednesday and up around 1:20 p.m.

Back to bed at 7 p.m. and up again at 9:50.

It's just after 11:30 p.m. Wednesday now. Thunderstorms were supposed to sweep through and cool things off, but they seem to have missed me. It'll still cool off, but it's taking longer. It's quite comfortable downstairs now, but my bedroom will still be pretty warm for a while.

Who knows when I'll sleep again, or for how long.

I need more eyedrops. *blink, blink*

I do have many fans (mostly quite antique), but no box fans. I had one until last year, but my ex-neighbor insisted that I stick it in my bedroom window to suck the warm air out. I told him it wouldn't work, but he was all: "It totally fits, look!"

Yeah. The window is a slider (side-to-side, not top-to-bottom), so there was no weight to hold the fan in place. It scared the crap out of me as it vibrated itself loose and crashed to the floor, breaking one of the blades.

The heatwave is over for now anyway. It's about 72 degrees in the office. :-)
