THE BITTER WITH THE SWEET
Daniel's face was a careful blank as he stared over Jack's shoulder. He didn't want to watch Jack's face, and closing his eyes had only made things worse. The corners of his mouth jerked in a controlled wince as the other man drove into him roughly. It had to be almost over; the noises that Jack was making now usually indicated the rapid approach of orgasm. This time was different, of course, but hopefully...
Jack's grip on him tightened, and he was moving faster, gasping for air. Please, Daniel thought with near desperation. Jack's hips stuttered; he buried himself deep inside Daniel; he groaned. Usually, at this point, Daniel's arms would be wrapped tightly around his lover and he would be saying Jack's name. This time, his hands were wrapped in the sheets, holding on grimly. Jack's body sagged down onto him. Heat and sweat. He felt Jack's chest pushing against him as it rose and fell. Daniel swallowed.
Jack stayed like that, crushing Daniel beneath his weight, until he softened enough to slip from Daniel's body. He muttered something thickly, and rolled to the side. Daniel relaxed his grip on the sheets, and stared up at the ceiling, shivering a little. After a minute, Jack's hand was flung sideways, and it landed on Daniel's stomach.
Daniel bit his lip. "Got that out of your system?" he asked tightly. He heard the rustle of the pillowcase and knew that Jack had turned his head to look at him.
"Just about," Jack said. Daniel didn't know what to say to that, so he kept silent, blinking up at the ceiling. The hand on his stomach patted him awkwardly. "Sorry."
"I offered," Daniel reminded his lover, reminded himself.
"I should have said no," Jack answered. "I shouldn't use you like that." His voice was filled with soft regret.
"'s okay," Daniel said, feeling calmness slowly returning.
Jack's fingers caressed Daniel lightly. "I didn't hurt you?" Daniel's mind began to swiftly catalogue the bruises that had already formed, or would form, the aching deep inside. Jack pushed up onto one elbow, his hand moving from Daniel's stomach to his chest. All the anger and bitter frustration that Jack's face had shown earlier were gone, replaced by shocked concern. "Daniel?"
Daniel covered Jack's hand with his own. "Not anywhere that matters," he promised, smiling tentatively. Jack frowned in concentration, searching Daniel' s expression. Daniel met his gaze openly.
"Let's not do this again," Jack finally said, a hint of a tremor in his voice. "I wouldn't come home and kick the dog because I had a bad day at the office. I don't want to be that guy. Don't...just don't, okay?"
"Okay," Daniel agreed. He was in no hurry to repeat this experience. He hooked a hand around Jack's neck, and pulled him down for a kiss. As Jack's lips parted and the kiss deepened, a flood of warmth took away the last remnants of the chill that had filled him. This was a much better way to express his love. He wrapped his arms around Jack with a sweet sense of relief. This was more like it.

Date: Oct. 19th, 2006 07:10 pm (UTC)Awww, Jack recognizes that this is not a good way to treat your lover.
I just realized I have barely any Jack/Daniel icons. I used to have tons.

I don't think Daniel realized how bad it was going to be, poor dear.

Date: Oct. 19th, 2006 11:02 pm (UTC)I can understand Daniel doing this for Jack. I mean, come on, it's JACK! He knows Jack, and he knows that it'll all be worth it in the end.
But I didn't know, and I'm glad you ended it on the note you did. (And good title)
*feels better*

Date: Oct. 20th, 2006 12:15 am (UTC)It was a lot worse than Daniel imagined, (emotionally, I mean) but I'm sure he would have willingly done it again in the future if Jack hadn't said, "Let's not."
So, to summarize, bitter Jack, sweet Daniel, sappy Sid. :-)

Date: Nov. 3rd, 2006 04:31 am (UTC)But, I am considering writing Jack's POV on these events. It would be quite the exercise in darkness for me, but I think it's interesting and worth my time to attempt it anyway.

Quite dark, I must say. *shivers*
