'Healing Touch', sequel to 'Restoration', rated PG

First came Brittle and Breaking, which are linked at the top of Restoration, here.

But people still weren't satisfied. 

So now (with beta-honors to juliabk) for my trademark Happy Happier Ending:

HEALING TOUCH

(touching)
I can hardly believe the stories they tell me. I feel fine. As long as I don’t think about it.

 

Jack tells me I’m a hero, but I don’t quite see myself as the hero type.

 

SG-1’s on stand-down, for an indefinite period of time.  That’s for the best. My friends are suffering, and I wish I could help.

 

Jack’s brought me home; says he’s not letting me out of his sight. He’s touching me a lot, but always hesitantly.

 

It’s not hard to figure out why.  Does it make me a hero, just knowing what needs to be done?

He’s so normal it’s spooky. God bless Thor, if that’s not redundant.

 

I kept my word; told him everything. Almost. 

 

Left out the part where he said he wanted to be touched. Maybe I’ll work up the nerve to tell him later. Meanwhile, I’m trying to give him what he doesn’t remember he wants. It’s hard; I keep remembering him jerking away from me...

 

What’s this?

 

Daniel’s arms are around me, and suddenly I’m holding on way too tight, but he just strokes my hair…

 

I think I may be getting his collar kinda damp. Don’t care. Never letting go.

Good point. Jack might wind up in tears. Well, yeah, he did anyway, but he didn't know that was going to happen. So, yes, it's very emotional for him, and he's too raw to discuss it yet. On top of his other reasons for hesitating to bring it up.

Better? They're home, they're in each other's arms, there's comfort to ease all the nasty hurt. *flails* It's a success story!

I think it's because it's an extremely personal revelation that Daniel made during a time of great stress, and under the influence of Thor's drug. I also think that maybe it touches on areas that the two of them have never actually discussed.

All dark fic should have a happy happier ending like this. Of course the happiest ending includes porn, but they deserve their privacy after all they've been through. :D

I think they're still a ways from the porny stuff, but maybe closer than they were before all these dire events took place. Jack has realized just how much he loves Daniel, and now he's planning to never let go...

You know, this may be the only downside to Daniel having his memory erased; he has no memory of his heroics, of being the kind of person who is willing to do anything to save his friends.

I don't think Daniel would recognize his heroics even with his memory intact. He was telling himself he wasn't a martyr when he was sacrificing himself to the point where death would have been preferable. And not just for his friends, but for all the prisoners.

He's just the kind of guy that makes Oma-types salivate over his innate goodness, but he doesn't think he's anything special. *pets wonderfully deluded Daniel*

I'm so relieved that there is some sort of happy ending. At least a little bit of it.
And even if there will be always questions on Daniel's part he learned so much about the "new" and vulnerable Jack O'Neill that they will come to an understanding and new beginning.

You see, I'm hopelessly optimistic. *g*

I think there's every reason to be optimistic here. Love is in the air! And the healing process is underway for Jack, with a few cathartic tears. And Daniel has to realize that most of Jack's pain is on his behalf. So he'll be there for his boyfriend Jack every step of the way.

It's all going to work out. :-)

I was okay with Restoration being the last chronological story but having seen this, now I want the SMUT. LOL. And I still say you could go back and play at different parts of the timeline since you handle the imprisoned psyche for both characters so supremely awesomely.
