I woke up with this idea. SGA. Me. Shoot me now.

Cover of Darkness
Starring Rodney McKay.
Rated: R (I suppose)
100 words

COVER OF DARKNESS

Rodney always slept naked now.

His door opening softly, waking him. Almost silent sounds of clothing being removed. Footsteps approaching; his covers flung back. Heavy warmth descending on him.

Persuasive hands touching him; the astonishing feeling of a powerful body moving over him, and beneath him. Through him.

Afterwards, heart still pounding, he could hear clothing being re-donned. Footsteps approaching one last time. A warm touch on his hand, a gentle rearranging of his covers. His door softly opening and closing.

Rodney thought that the cover of darkness was the perfect time for hidden kisses.

Carson and John evidently disagreed.

Love it, and welcome to the Dark Side.

Carson and John evidently disagreed.

This has me confused. What? There's only one person sliding into his bed and they are doing it under cover of darkness.

*blink blink*

I had a writing professor who once said to "never trick your reader."

I didn't know what he meant.

I ran into this again when I had a story called "The Snow Globe" where in the end everyone turned out to be living in a snow globe -- and a more professional writer pointed that the trickery was a problem, that it undermined the faith the reader had in me. I wasn't being clever but taking advantage of the reader's suspension of disbelief.

I still didn't get it.

Then I read a fanfic that had a twist at the end that left a really bad taste in my mouth as a reader, because the facts that I'd been led to believe were all false.

Then I got it.

Mmmm. Nice scenario to wake up with. I think Through him is what really gets me. :-)

Wow! You keep grabbing me with these final lines. Great imagination you got there! I just finished reading an author who wrote terrific stories that always fizzled at the end, whether they were drabbles or novel length. I never have to worry about fizzles with your stories. Your endings _sizzle_.
