My neighbor's daughter actually said that her grandfather was getting rid of his old one and getting a new one, so my neighbor is anticipating the old one falling into his hands.
Yes, I heard they were very noisy, too. I would definitely wear my earplugs!
Actually what I need to do is buy a tarp, which would be a lot cheaper and make transporting leaves to the curb a lot quicker. I was using a shower curtain! (Or maybe I could just cover the entire yard with tarps and not have to rake at all. ;-)
Hm. If tarps come cheap (which I do not know) then, why not have two or three in strategic places, and when the season arrives, roll the tarps up with the leaves inside, so that they can be transported easily.
Unfortunately I can't think that would be very good for the grass. The lawn service guy told me that the leaves could create "dead spots". I'm thinking a big ol' tarp would be much worse!
The yards have been neglected for years, so I'm trying to work on getting them into shape. Mostly by paying other people to do the work! :-D
