Well, I have a 544 word snippet of a fic, without a beginning or an end. If I ever write the beginning, which might not be too hard to do, I may post the end result at arboreal_gate and see if someone picks up the ball and runs with it, because I have no idea where it might be heading!
My favorite bit is on the left, under the word 'talk'. If you read it right to left it says "never going back." Very appropriate and romantic for a first-time fic... although things are never that simple. *eg*
I might tack on a suitable beginning, but as is it ends on a whopper of a cliffhanger, and I have absolutely no idea what's going on! Does that work, when the author is as completely in the dark as the characters are? *sighs dramatically*
It definitely works! I had no idea what to do with that Teal'c-showering snippet way back when, and the comm ::looks at you:: ::and PoG:: made two whole fics out of it. The comm's meant to be a home for stories that have stumped their authors as much as for starting new stories to see what happens. And cliffhangers are fun. *g*
