Manhunt?

I don't know what's going on, but there are police cars and vans all over the neighborhood, and two officers on foot cut through my back yard!

(I guess they didn't read the little signs TruGreen left, saying to keep off the lawn until sunset tomorrow...)

ETA: and then there were wailing sirens and I saw about five police cars head north, so apparently there won't be any shootouts on my block. Whew!

Hopefully I can find out tomorrow what it was all about! It was quite unnerving to have a police car, lights flashing, positioned across the street with an officer standing on the sidewalk. When he left I thought it was all over, but a minute later there was a van blocking the street, and a patrol car a few houses down. And officers walking through my yard (presumably just because it's unfenced and they could.)

oh yeah.

i don't know if it's true in your area or if your internet connection is fast enough to support it, but a lot of areas have a site that just broadcasts the police band. so you could kind of listen in...

I think it's all over by now, anyway.

I did go to a blog that reports police and fire calls, but there wasn't anything.

Ooh-er missus! That's the kind of thing that can make your heart pound... Hope you get to find out what was going on - and that your lawn will still be okay despite their trampling.

It's still a mystery at this point, sadly. I had to trample the lawn myself this morning to take out the trash and recycling. I should tell the lawn care company not to come on Wednesdays!

Oh, yes, I promptly locked the back door. The screen door was locked in the front, and of course I couldn't close the regular door...because then how could I keep an eye on the police cars parked across the street? LOL
