'Best Man', drabble, Jack and Daniel, rated G

BEST MAN

Jack was sober and pale. His hands shook a little as he tried to straighten his tie. Daniel gently batted them away and took over. Tie adjusted, he smoothed Jack's lapels and brushed a fingertip over the white rosebud in his buttonhole. "You look great."

"I feel like I'm going to throw up."

"This is the right thing." Jack got the soft, faraway look in his eyes that made Daniel's heart break. "It's perfect," Daniel added, taking Jack's hand and tucking it into the crook of his elbow before leading him out to meet his Sara.

Now, now, not a nightmare, but a very bittersweet dream.

However, as Daniel wakes up with Jack snuggled up to him, it fades away pretty quickly.
