BRITTLE

Bend, don’t break.  Don’t let them see how close...

 

Bone-exhausted.  But there’s no rest.  Don’t break.  There’s still…

 

Daniel deserves a medal.  If I live long enough…

 

Don’t.  I will live, and I’ll make sure...

 

Most days, he’s the only thing standing between us and death, and I know it if nobody else does.  I see what it does to him, one piece of his soul at a time.  I knew he had courage, but I never realized how much. 

 

Or how much I love him.

 

We haven’t seen him for three days now.  He’s all alone with that monster.

Well, it wasn't my FIRST thought, but I have to admit that on a second or third reading, the possibility that "the monster" was somehow Hathor had crossed my mind. It would certainly explain some of Jack's concern. Think of them in Hathor's mock SGC, how Daniel actually backed away from her, couldn't look her in the eye. I mean, she raped him. In Canon. So I could see that, yes.

But I'm a slasher, so my first thought was yeah. Guy. Violent. Sadistic... guy.
